Oh my god, VMLYR NFTs!

While working as an Art Director at VMLYR I presented a Happy Hour talk about one of my favorite things: portrait illustration. I demonstrated a quick & simple digital process by drawing a few co-workers in Procreate, live on the call, and having folks guess who they were.

The portraits were a hit, and Executive Creative Director Glen Scott saw an opportunity to create a learn-by-doing opportunity for the team. NFTs were having a moment, and to motivate the office to get familiar with them, everyone on the VMLYR West team was surprised with an illustration of their own company headshot as a freshly minted NFT.

Note: One thing I learned about NFTs during this process is that creating them has an enormous environmental impact. I will not be taking on any projects focused on NFTs going forward, however I’d be happy to draw you 100 faces for some other reason!
